Lutradur® is a semi-transparent, spun-bonded non-woven polyester fabric that can be coloured using a wide range of media. Ideal for textile and paper arts, it offers excellent stability while remaining lightweight and translucent. The fabric does not fray, can be easily stitched, and may be distressed using a soldering iron or heat gun for creative surface effects.
· Painting & Dyeing: Suitable for fabric paints, silk paints, watered-down acrylics, Inktense, transfer dyes, pens, pencils, and inks.
· Heating: Responds to heat from a heat gun or iron by bubbling and forming holes, creating distinctive textures and distressed effects—similar to Tyvek®, but able to be stitched afterward.
· Stitching: Can be sewn by machine or hand both before and after heat manipulation.
