Manipulated Fabric Textile Art Kit

This creative embroidery kit teaches you how to manipulate fabrics to create surface texture using a range of fabrics and different manipulation techniques to produce a textured piece of work. You will learn how to incorporate traditional techniques such as smocking and suffolk puffs and pleating along with innovative methods to create a textures and tucks. These are combined with french knots to create a textured heart, circle, or any shape you would like.

This creative embroidery kit includes detailed step by step instructions with photographs and, is suitable for all abilities.

This kit includes the following:

A background fabric with a straight (slow) stitch approx 25cm x 25cm (10" x 10")

Medium hand painted yarn

A selection of fabrics of different thicknesses including the following:

Hand Dyed Silk Velvet

Hand dyed silk fabric

Hand dyed cotton or linen  

Organza or other sheer fabric

Lace and/or ribbon

A coordinating Liberty print cotton fabric

You will need

A coordinating sewing thread, needle, pins, embroidery scissors and an embroidery frame 15 to 20 cm(6-8”)
